Pat Yasinskas has written a great article on his NFC South Blog about Julius Peppers’ tenure with the Carolina Panthers. There is no Earth-shattering information in the article, but it is one of the very few biographical articles that have been written about Pep. As the article says, no one really knows Peppers. Yasinskas, however, had [...]

Rumor Has it That Foxy is Staying

The Observer broke the story, and the national media seems to have picked it up. It looks like Marty Hurney, John Fox, and the coaching staff will all be invited to return next season. To be honest, I don’t really have a coherent reaction to it. I don’t know how I feel; I guess I’m indifferent. [...]
A National Embarrassment

It’s official; John Fox named Jake Delhomme the starter next week at Atlanta. This is unbelievable. Could you imagine if the Panthers were coached by Bill Parcells or Bill Cowher? Delhomme wouldn’t just be benched; he would be cut. Instead, he was given a vote of confidence to remain the starter of the John Fox-led Panthers. We are [...]

More on the Richardsons: It wasn’t a dispute between sons and father that led to the resignations. It was a dispute between the sons themselves that led father to fire both of them. Supposedly, these things happen quite often, but it’s still quite a fall from grace for the Richardson family. This family has always [...]

Robinson Cut, Leonard Acquired: The Panthers traded for Louis Leonard this morning. They gave up an undisclosed draft pick to the Browns in exchange. This could be a Chris Harris find all over again. At the very least, he gives some depth. This trade may have been in the works for some time, and yesterday’s [...]

ESPN is doing a series on every NFL team’s biggest weakness. A little downer heading into the weekend by the guys in Bristol. Since the coverage by the Observer of Panthers summer school practice (even Jake throws a pretty ball when the pads aren’t on) and today’s appearance by Jerry Richardson is likely sending Panthers fans into [...]
Richardson Gets New Heart

I’m a little late on this one. Jerry Richardson, the owner of the Carolina Panthers, underwent heart transplant surgery on February 1. Richardson faces a long recovery, but he seems to have gotten through the toughest parts. The Panthers released a statement about the operation.

A Day of Cuts: Jake Delhomme, Kemo, Damione Lewis, Na’il Diggs, Landon Johnson - all cut today. The cuts happened to quickly that I very well may have forgotten about someone. While the loss Delhomme won’t mean any more football-wise than any of those others players – arguably, his loss will mean less than the other [...]
